Kate Maguire

My passion for music began at a young age through singing. At around ten years old I discovered a love for the piano after my grandfather introduced me to a few simple tunes. I initially trained as a classical pianist, completing formal piano examinations and participating in numerous Feiseanna throughout Ireland. Alongside this, I received vocal training as a member of a youth choir for ten years. Over time, my musical interests expanded beyond classical performance to include improvisation and using the piano as an accompaniment for voice. I view music as a powerful form of self-expression and believe that every student should have the opportunity to develop their own unique musical style. As a teacher, I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable exploring, learning, and making mistakes. With experience working with both children and adult learners, I strive to make lessons engaging, enjoyable, and tailored to each individuals goals and abilities.
